Newspapers in Brazil are reporting that Reynaldo Gianecchini was mugged in the on the night of Saturday, January 19, in the Jardim Botânico on the south side of the city of Rio de Janeiro. If I’m reading things right, Giane had finished a rehearsal of his upcoming play, Doce Deleite, and was driving an unnamed friend home. Giane was still seated in the car when he was surrounded by armed men. The muggers took Giane’s wallet and mobile phone, as well as the keys to the car, but he and his friend were otherwise unharmed.

Today, Giane is in the city of São Paulo to attend a showing of his newest movie, Sexo com Amor.
